When Bubby was about three months our neighbor’s dog was in heat. She was out playing with her owners. We brought Bella and Bubby out without leashes which was not smart. We weren’t used to seeing the neighborhood dog out, since she doesn’t come out much.
Bella barked extra when she saw the neighbor’s dog. Bella was alarmed because she wasn’t used to seeing the dog out either. Bubby wasn’t really aware of what was going on until the neighborhood dog ran over to him. He was terrified. The neighbor’s dog is a medium-large size dog, and he is a teacup yorkie dog, and only a puppy!
The neighbor’s dog only sniffed Bubby, but Bubby thought that she was going to take advantage of him, I’m sure. At first he tried to play dead, but he was too scared. He squealed a high pitched squeal that was very loud. I felt bad because I am sure that Bella’s barking only made the other dog more nervous.
Bubby thought his life was over. As bad as I felt for Bubby I also couldn’t help but get a kick out of the scene. I couldn’t help but laugh! Ever since that day Bubby has been very apprehensive. He sneaks into the neighbor’s yard every change he can get to bark at the neighbor’s house or at the dog, when she is out. The neighbor’s dog is usually in a cage, so Bubby must feel safe enough to dare doing this.
