Why Rescue Yorkie Dogs?

Posted on 03 March 2009 by Francis - Kennel Owner

Yorkshire Terriers more known as Yorkies have silky coats and delicate features. bella-yorkyThey are an adventurous breed, often displaying high energy and feistiness. They range from eight to fourteen kilos and are in a nutshell, small.  They act like they are bigger than their size, known to be very clever, brave and loyal. These dogs are very affectionate and protective towards their pac and human companions.

These dogs are deceptively strong willed despite their tiny size. More often, they rule the house and the owners let them do so. They disguise their domination in that cute little face.

In reality, there are times when these adorable miniature canines find themselves in need for humans to rescue Yorkie Dogs. Various reasons are credited for Yorkie Rescue; anything from a typhoon, death of an owner, domestic problems, financial hardships, divorce, moving to different locations, illness of owners due to dogs. Sometimes there are puppy mills, intentional and unintentional lost yorkies

For whatever reason, organizations and individuals have to rescue yorkie dogs. Like all of us, they all need loving homes loving human companions to keep them safe.

It’s good that some organizations have been dedicated enough in the rescue of yorkie dogs. Some organizations stem from a group of friends who consolidate time, finances and talents and dedicate their well beings to the rescue of Yorkshire Terriers and Mix breeds. They have pledged to rescue and re-home as many Yorkies and Yorkie mixes as possible. It’s amazing that these people are bound in providing love, nourishment, rehabilitation and socialization for these animals.

Imagine how a few people take in as many stray, abandoned or surrendered Yorkshire Terriers or Yorkshire Terrier mixes. It must be a tough endeavor to provide fro them until they can relocate them.

These groups also educate the public about the nature and behavior of the Yorkshire Terrier plus discuss the duties and responsibilities of a pet owner.

If you want to get a good pet Yorkshire terrier, I’d encourage you to look for pets that are in need of adoption and Rescue. I don’t see much difference in the purchase and rescue of a Yorkie dog. I feel that I’ll be a better person if I rescue than buy one. It will be a bigger contribution to the bigger picture.
