Hello , i was wondering is their anyway i can get a yorkie for a reasonable price bt 200-300$ for my daughter , i was tryin to get her one for christmas so can u please contact me at (xxx)xxx-xxxx, thank you and have a blessed day.
Answer:
That seems to be the common price range of most of our readers, that price range is usually where the scams and puppy mill prices are at. Do be careful when looking around.
For $500 to $2000 are where most Yorkies are priced. Our boy cost us $900 an our girl I talked them down to $1,400. We don’t sell yorkies, our boy is neutered and our girl we are waiting to breed until she is 4 to 5 years old… as we aren’t ready to take on more than two dogs.
The $500 + price range you’ll be more likely to find a healthy puppy who’s mother was well taken care of before, during and after pregnancy. Thus, your more a healthy puppy. if the breeder says the parents are registered with a kennel club ask them which one and the sire and dams names so you can look them up online on the kennel clubs website, to verify they are telling the truth. These breeders are also more likely to have healthier dogs.
Now to give you something to do while you save up more money for the puppy, check your local free and paid newspaper website classified ads section (I check their online version) for yorkies that are FREE! Now I mean free and you can go see the dog within a reasonable driving range. If they ask you to pay for shipping those are scams 99% of the time, avoid those and pick up the dog yourself.
Now always know why the dog is free. In many cases it because the owners are moving and can’t take the dog with them. In some cases its because the owner is not able to care for the dog, and as such the dog has been neglected and may have some behavior problems you might not be willing to take on. So be sure to visit the dog take it for a walk and spend about an hour with it before deciding to take it home. These will in most cases not be puppies, so you’ll be getting a adult yorkie. Keep in mind that many consider yorkie to be the baby of family.
I hope this helps
