This is the official website of Yorkie Rescue Colorado (YorkieRescueColorado.com), one of the institutions for Yorkie rescue in Colorado. A registered non-profit organization devoted to care, adoption and overall welfare of Yorkies.
Their Mission:
“Our mission is to stop animal cruelty in any form, neuter and spay all dogs in rescue, provide vaccinations and other viable medical care needed to provide quality of life, and to find loving homes for all the dogs entrusted to us, whether they are relinquished to us by owners, shelters, breeders, or come in as strays. We are committed to doing all we can to educate those who adopt from us and the public about the Yorkshire Terrier breed.”
They are a breed specific, breed-specific, re-homing, rescue and adoption agency. A group of unpaid volunteers to devoted to give the Yorkie species a better world to live in. They treat adopted and rescued Yorkies like their own pets.
Their main purpose is to re-home surrendered and lost Yorkies! They take in abandoned and other victims of abuse. They have a program that somehow appeases guilt in surrendering Yorkies and a guaranteed assurance that Yorkies will be placed in happy homes. There is no guilt in there, if you can’t take care of it, let someone else. (Just being fair)
The re-homing procedure involves applications and screening to see if the potential families are a good match for the rescued Yorkies. They will be able to match lifestyles, living conditions and some other valuable considerations to establish compatibility of man and animal.
They have good beliefs like any of us that animals should never fall victim to hunger and should be loved and cared for. Moreover, they live the ideas that Yorkies deserve happy lives in happy homes.
The organization provides learning and education for Yorkie owners. On their site, you will also find some principles regarding animal cruelty, volunteering, adoption, and of course sponsoring and donations. The website is useful and likewise full of stories and caring inspiration. It even has information of how kids should behave around Yorkies.
I like what they do, the principles in all. Like they say on the website of Yorkie rescue in Colorado, “The only voice they have is yours”; I hope they continue to progress and someday I hope our rescue organization here in our area will be as principled as theirs.

We are looking to rescue a yorkie, would like to do a brother and sister if possible, or 2 that have been together for a while. We had to put down our male 4 years ago at the age of 13 and our female was put to sleep at the age of 16. That was yesterday. If you have any information or leads where we may look we would be forever in your debt.

Yorkie male in need of a new home. Family moving to Germany and can not take him along. Winston is 2 1/2 years old,12 lbs, neutered, house trained, good with other dogs, loves to play with his toys, loves to play fetch-brings toy back to you, loves to cuddle in bed, sleeps in his crate at night,a back yard to run and play a must, loves to go on a walk, rides in car, etc. He is used to a stay at home mom and having someone home most of the day. Would like to find someone that is home most of the time so he can have the companionship he is used to now. A sweetheart of a guy and very handsome! Please contact if interested.
